GPU Bottlenecking and Davinci Resolve Crashing

PostSat Jan 09, 2021 8:54 pm

Hi,

I'm having issues where after about 30 seconds to 1 minute of using Resolve (mostly just cutting clips in the timeline) my GPU runs at 99% and Davinci Resolve crashes.

There can't be an issue with the hardware though, I have an RTX 3080 10GB with a Ryzen 7 5800X, 16GB of RAM and I'm only editing 1080p resolution footage for YouTube.

The issue immediately started occuring after I installed the latest NVidia graphics driver (Version: 461.09. I've re-installed to see if it was a driver issue, performed a clean install and neither have worked)

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with the latest driver update and/or found a fix? I'm not sure whether the issue lies with Davinci Resolve (latest version too) or NVidia and I'm going crazy trying to figure out where the problem lies.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

I had issues with rendering after installing the latest NVIDIA driver. Went back to 460.89 Studio and all is good.

My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
