Apparently, I messed up with installation. Help?

PostSun Jan 10, 2021 8:59 pm

I tried last night to install to my computer DVR 17. Upon installing, I could not get the software to open, no matter what I tried. I googled the heck out of possible answers, and finally had to resolve to uninstall it from my computer, and instead attempt to install DVR 16.

So I finally got 16 installed this morning, and now I'm getting what appears to be a super common error - "Local Database" database is incompatible. I understand that this happens when you try to install 17, and then have to install 16 because 17 didn't work. I understand that I need to uninstall... Something? To fix this problem? But I'm not sure what, or where to find it. I have seen that there are other posts about this issue, and unfortunately, there aren't a lot of solutions offered up in the comment sections. I have seen that some people have been able to figure it out, but not shared the answer.

I have never used DVR before - This is my first attempt. I don't have any files that I am afraid of losing in connection with this software, because I haven't been able to get this software to work yet. So I don't mind what needs to be deleted in order for me to use this program, I just need to be able to use the program.

Please help?

My first course of action would be to Uninstall using the following program, checking the option in the software to Automatically remove residual files.

https://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php

Then reinstall.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
