Hi, Im a photographer based in the UK, Im looking for anyone thats does one to one online training in DaVinci Resolve. Ive a basic knowledge, looking for help in colour grading. Thanks.

Your best bet are the training manuals. They come with lessons.

You looked up any words you didn't know the meaning of as you went along?

I suspect 1-2-1 training sessions would be very expensive compared to the many excellent on-demand training video lessons including paid/subscription options from online learning portals.

I found the utility of a training hours very limited due to one single factor - lack of practice and ingrained muscle memory. My learning curve has taken an extraordinarily long time simply because I could only devote 3 hours per week for the last few years (that too never a full hour at times). So the many useful advanced topics I have already covered look daunting to actually execute quickly in practice because I don't remember fully well enough what I watched and and executed just once during a bout of learning enthusiasm and I need to go back and watch the whole damn thing once again taking double the original time... 15-20 min curiosity learning sessions don't work so well - practice and repetition is the key.

With a Live session you will not have the benefits of play-again repeat-anytime on-demand training courses.

The on-demand video training material usually come with projects and source media to work on and practice the lessons.

I felt like you a year ago.

My good luck was that my start coincided with the lock down and I had masses of spare time.

I would have given my eye teeth for a tutor.

However, I am old enough to have been around at the start of 'Desk Top Publishing'. The move from hot metal typesetting to computerised text formatting.

I had a small company with a design department of about three folk and we did find a one to one trainer. However, she was wise and recommended we try to puzzle it out, Ventura it was called, and put an A3 sheet of paper on the office wall for a list of things we could not do. She refused to come until we had been working that way for a month. It was interesting how many things got crossed off the top of the list and so when our tutor came in for the first time the questions were much more meaningful.

Yesterday, nothing to do with Ventura or Resolve, I wrote a pal a double A4 sheet of instructions how to do something on his PC. The email he sent this morning made it clear he simply had skimmed, rather then considered, what I had written. I am not suggesting that would be your approach to the Resolve lessons and manual - but if you plod at it you will get there.

I suspect a lot of new tutorial material will come out with v17 and the freebie Speed Editor.

Do also spend time looking at the pinch points you struggle over on YouTube. There is a wealth of material there. You may also find the odd presenter who seems to make things clearer and my experience is that some of them are all to happy to answer specific questions. If you value what they tell you then a few bob (I think you are a Brit) in their direction never goes amiss.

In answer to your question at the top of the thread I will certainly pass on any names I come across - but I don't know of anybody at the moment.
