So just got my Speed Editor today.
I'm using the latest version of DR17 Studio.
I have tried three different USB-C cables, uninstalled and reinstalled all DR Programs including Control Panels.
How in the world do you actually set this thing up? What am I missing?
Windows 10
Ryzen 7 3700X
32GB RAM
RTX 3070

Don't have mine yet but from the *many* youtube vids I've watched, you simply use it in the Cut page.
There's no additional setup involved or drivers required, and it's apparently not a "Control Panel" in the traditional sense of CPs.
So if it's plugged in and not responding in the Cut page then it sounds like you have a duff one

It does require drivers to be installed, but they should be installed by the Resolve installer.
If you go to Device Manager in Windows, it should be listed under "Sound, video, and game controllers" as "Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor". Do you have that when the Speed Editor is plugged in? Does it have an error icon, and if so, what does it say?
I'd suspect dud USB cables before a faulty Speed Editor, just because there are SO many bad USB cables out there, especially Type-C. Make sure you're using actual data cables, not ones made for charging cell phones (which are often power/charge only).

I read that too. I got nothing there. I have a pretty good supply of USB-C cables that all are data/charging as I used them for removable storage as well. I even just set up a second PC and did a fresh install of DR to try it out and no luck again.

So update.
Store that I bought it from called me back as I had just purchased it this morning and called them to ask what to do.
They had me bring my system down there and hook it up. We tried the speed editor on their system, no luck.
Opened another one they had on hand and plugged into my system, worked instantly.
The one that was sold was just straight up DOA.

Ouch.
Glad it's resolved at least! But... ouch.
