Resolve v17.0.0b.0018 crashing a lot - no specific actions

PostMon Jan 11, 2021 9:24 pm

Hi all,

Resolve v17.0.0b.0018 is crashing all over the place for me.

Start it up, choose an existing project, drag the play head around a bit.
It plays as I'm dragging for a little bit then stops playing. I can still drag the play head around but it does nothing.
GPU hits 100% and stays there.
Then I do a few more things (like hit play on preview) and CPU hits 100% on 4 - 6 cores.
Then it's dead.

My machine has a pretty fresh install of Windows with the bios and drivers all up to date - no other issues on the pc.

Any help would be greatly received.

Russ.

Diagnostic logs and NFO as specified in the FAQs will help repo the issue.

What NVIDIA driver? There is a known issues (driver bug) with the latest NVIDIA gaming drivers. Studio driver is good so far, and the older gaming drivers are good too.

DVR is crashed often and with AMD FirePRO too.
May be it's a new Feature?

Yes, apologies. I started this thread before having fully read through all the relevant FAQs but I couldn't update it until the thread was moderated.

I then read through someone else's thread about the latest NVIDIA drivers. I rolled them back to the studio drivers (460.89) and it fixed the issue.

Thanks for the response anyway.

My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
