Looking for Control Surface --> Crash
I find it telling that, for the many new installers of Resolve, Blackmagic seems to have no checklist procedure to deal with an abend on "Looking for Control Surface." Instead, tech support asks for log files, but apparently never finds solutions, as neither the conditions nor the solutions are published.
I for one, after multiple hours of installing and de-installing and cleaning up after a Resolve that cannot get past its own startup, will decamp to a stable product. I submit for your consideration that elsewhere in the software universe are products that automate the production and upload of logs relating to such problems; and that analysis of those logs leads to enhancements to the software product that make the product more robust.
