Issue with importing/video files

I'm having issues importing my mp4 video files. It seems that whenever I move them to the media pool area, the video thumbnail doesn't appear and when I drag it into the editing area, all I get is a blue bar (which I assume represents the video) and that's it.

Any suggestions with how to troubleshoot this?

To help you troubleshooting, we need far more information, like hardware, GPU in particular, source format and version of DR.

Have you completed any of the training manuals for Resolve yet? (I always recommend that as a first action for new users.)
