I just noticed this when keyframing opacity if of a Text+ object in Fusion for the fade-in/out effect.
I was easily advancing a fixed number of steps before setting a keyframe and opacity value for a while then after changing some values suddenly it behaves like the keyboard is dead and refuses to advance for up to 2mins or more. Quiet frustrating. A 1 min job takes +10mins with a lot of keyboard banging ...

Is this a matter of your text box still having focus? I believe straight-up arrow keys operate in the text field. (At least in v17, you can up/down arrow to change the values, and I think left/right moves within the field.) You may have to click outside of the text box to shift focus to the timeline. Or maybe remap next frame to a different shortcut?

No because I was both smashing my mouse button and banging the keyboard (in frustration) with the cursor at this point near the red/white bars in the screenshot. Focus should have changed ...

I have found that focus does not always change when I think it should. What you should be checking is if the text box still has a cursor or highlighting in it. (You can enable a preference to put a red line over the window with focus, too. I've done that.)

I'm pretty sure clicking in the time area of the timeline -- even moving the playhead -- does NOT change focus to the timeline.
