Facebook User Groups

Has anyone at BMD considered either participating in one of the Facebook groups, or starting an "official" one to aid in support? More and more manufacturers are opting for this as a support option and I think it would offer a significant positive impact. I know that Teradek actually referred me to their Core users group and I see them frequently responding to posts. Steven Slate is also very active in the Slat Plugins (to name two specific instances)

Anymore, I have far better (and faster) responses to requests for help on Facebook groups than posting in these forums.

The BMD representatives that post here frequently are in the DaVinci Resolve for Professional Users group as well.

I find the forum much better. You can't use external search engines like Google to find info in private groups.

For official support you contact BMD directly. Not via this user forum or social media groups.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to join that group. The questions they pose to join seem a bit elitist to me. Also, if you hadn't mentioned it, it's not a group that I would have found.
As far as contacting BMD directly, I have not always had great success (with BMD hardware I use), and as a non-studio user of Resolve, the forum is the only outlet they offer.
I'm simply suggesting that other tech companies have made an intentional effort to capitalize on Facebook as an avenue for support.

The entry questions are not “elitist”, they are intended to weed out total newbies. It was becoming a huge problem in that group, where the same basic questions were constantly being asked, and it was affecting the signal to noise ratio.

If you are a working Resolve Professional, the Resolve Professionals group is a fantastic resource. If you are a newbie or casual, “hobbyist” Resolve user, then there are a ton of other more general Resolve forums that are more suited for that level of discussion.

I wish we had that here.
