Linux/Win file compatibility, CentOS support, & DRS17 releas

PostWed Jan 13, 2021 9:23 am

I was planning on using CentOS and purchase DRS17 when it comes out.
However, the files I have came from my former editor who used Win10.
1. Will a Linux distro be able to use the files that were originally generated, handled, optimized, etc with Win 10? How would I go about getting it compatible?
2. Now that IBM/Red Hat has announced the end of support of CentOS, how will Blkmagic respond? Will they begin creating a Ubuntu supported version? Will they simply continue CentOS 8 support until DRS18 comes out?
3. We are in the middle of editing our footage. However, we are hoping that DRS17 will come out soon (so we can get the speed editor as well at the same time). Is there any word or estimate or rumors as to when the actual pro version of DRS17 will be released? 1month, 3mo, 6mo, 1 year????
Thanks for your help in advance. :?:
