360/VR Rendering Metadata Issues

PostWed Jan 13, 2021 3:20 pm

Hi,

Looking to the forum to see if anyone has any solutions for my current dilemma in working with
360 video. In previous version of Resolve (15/16) I was able to edit, convert (using Fusion), and render my 360/VR video from Resolve. Since Resolve never gave an option on the Delivery page for adding the 360 metadata to footage like Premiere during render. Before starting to you Resolve 17, I used a older program called "Spatial Media Metadata Injector" to add this information...which worked well.

Now, however, renders from Resolve 17 seem to break on conversion...removing color information and degrading the footage. Rendering directly out of Fusion is a no go...as where the Resolve render takes 30 for a full render, Fusion gives me estimates of days.

Any insight would be helpful from anyone that has over come this issue in the new Resolve..or has a workaround

Footage Specs:
- 6K Resolution
- Motion Graphics are added on top of the footage in Fusion
- Paint overs in Fusion to remove tripod and add logos via PanoMap/LatLongPathcher
