Bug report: Artifacts in the video

PostThu Jan 14, 2021 3:57 am

Hello!
I have a strange problem with videos rendered from Resolve 17 - please see the attachment.

Those artifacts are visible in the viewer but hap[opened also in the final render. They appear in the highlight areas when highlight extents are out of the range. Even a one-pixel-size flare spot produce it as a big black square.

The source - CinemaDNG from Inspire2.
The very slight color correction has been done mostly in the CameraRAW module and some fine-tuning has been made with Curves.
The main settings which may be responsible are:
- ColorManagement: DaVinci ColorManaged (new), input D-Gamut/D-LOG, timeline DaWInci WideGamut, output Rec709
Settinhs->CameraRaw: RAW Profile - Camera Metadata, ColorSpace/Gamma - BlackMagic, HighlightRecovery ON.

You talking about those black diamonds?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

OK.

Maybe test out a clip in an ACES project? See if the issue in RCM related.
