Fairlight Audio Recording on M1 Mac Not Recording / Working

I'm having some real issues with the audio recording feature in Davinci. Whenever I arm a track to record and then click the record button, the file just plays but no recording happens.
I'll attach screenshots, would appreciate some help as I'm ready to tear my hair out.
FYI running a Macbook Pro 2020 (M1 Chip), and Davinci Resolve Beta 17.1 B Build 11. I also had the exact same issue in Davinci Resolve 16.8 and have upgraded to 17.1 to try fix the issue which hasn't been resolved.
So far I've checked...
- Track is armed
- Input is set to internal mic, also tried using Rode NT USB mic with same results
- Security preference is set to allow mic accesss by davinci
- Double checked the frequency in the audio midi page, it's not that either
