FCPx to Resolve Migration

PostThu Jan 14, 2021 5:25 pm

I am looking to migrate our Editors (3 people) on our QNAP system with 150TB of mixed footage and long form Multicam interviews from FCPx to DaVinci Resolve. The majority of the footage we have is shot with Blackmagic Cameras (Ursa, 4K, 6K, etc). Mac machines are connected either via 10G Ethernet or Thunderbolt 3.

I am most interested for input of the best practice / process to migrate existing FCPx libraries to a DR database. We have several FCPx libraries with hundreds of synced Multicam long form interviews built out already that we would rather not have to recreate. These interviews are constantly pulled and used for additional projects and content creation. There is also 30TB of B-roll that we pull from on a regular basis that is just in basic folder structure on the QNAP. Because I am starting from scratch with Davinci, I want to make sure we set up this up properly so there are no glitches moving forward as we create new projects and data bases. Any input or references would greatly be appreciated!
