Edit: Make fusion clip should offer choice of format

Currently seems to be locked to timeline format (any way of changing HD fusion clip to UHD?).

I'm in an HD timeline, with some UHD shots. I want to make a fusion clip that is UHD.

Current workaround (R17b6) is to duplicate the timeline, make it UHD, select clips, make fusion clip then I aimed to copy/paste to the HD timeline but Resolve crashed at this point

Hello everyone my name is David and I am new to the world of videomakers. I would like to invest in DaVinci resolve studio 17 and I would like to understand is I can use it with an Intel i5 I had different kind of answers either negative or positive about. I am starting this adventure with the goal of making my little son a future video maker. Thank you for the help

Seems that a fusion clip brings the resolution of the timeline it is cut into into the fusion page with it.

If I have 2 UHD clips on an HD timeline and 'make fusion clip' then that fusion clip is HD.

If I create a UHD timeline with the 2 UHD clips and 'make fusion clip' then that fusion clip is UHD - BUT - if I put that UHD fusion clip in the HD timeline then go to the fusion page then both MediaIns report as HD.

My workaround (as these are different parts of the same clip) is to use one UHD layer and a timestretcher with the expression time+nnn where nnn is the frame difference between the 2 clips. Hopefully.

viewtopic.php?f=22&t=123368&p=676131&hilit=Mediain#p676131 details the options available for keeping original resolution.

And I think an adjustment clip above the shots I need may work for this scenario (which is a 3 shot on green screen with different takes used for each talent) viewtopic.php?f=22&t=123133&p=675116&hilit=Mediain#p675116 - on second thoughts that's probably NG too.

But talking to myself on this thread has made me figure best option. That is to create single UHD file in premiere pro from the 3 takes before bringing into Resolve. Easier all round.

(Maybe could've dragged clips from the timeline to the media pool and from there into the ReFusion page from a single UHD clip? Need to test to see if that keeps in/outs)
