Calibrating monitor with UltraStudio mini 4K

Hey everyone,
I'm currently using Resolve 17 on an iMac Pro which is connected through thunderbolt 3 to a UltraStudio 4K which feeds the signal through HDMI to an Asus ProArt PA32UCX 32.
For calibrations, I'm using the xrite i1 display pro and for the software Display Cal.

My question is, how do I calibrate the monitor so that the changes will apply to the monitor connected to my video I/O box?
I've done when running it through direct connection via thunderbolt to monitor and the LUT that will be created is affecting my monitor.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Well, the LUT is supposed to do the correction.
Did you read this carefully: https://hub.displaycal.net/wiki/3d-lut- ... r-resolve/ ?
Works perfectly fine here, but it's important that you don't integrate an extra gamma correction.

Thank you for your reply Uli.
I did read the instructions a few times and I guess I did get confused due to the Menu that has changed in resolve 17 in the color settings.
My issue is that when applying the LUT as the video monitor output, it also effects my iMac, not only the Asus monitor.
Unfortunately, this causes the iMac image to be way off.
Is there a way to separate that?
Also can you keep the LUT activated for every new project or do you have to load it every time by hand?

Check the manual:
"1D/3D Color Viewer Lookup Table: Two drop-down menus let you add 1D and/or 3D LUTs that process the image shown in the Viewer on your computer display, independently of the Display LUT that’s used to output to your broadcast display. By default, this follows the Video Monitor LUT setting, but you can also use this option to apply a specific calibration transform for your computer monitor."

Yes, this is on a per project basis. That's why I always keep an empty project with my preferred settings and duplicate that when I start something new.

That option does not seem to be available in Resolve 17. See attachment.

Color viewer is the color page viewer. Don't use the "use video monitoring selection" for it or the scopes lookup table.

Right. But you could choose to also calibrate your GUI screen with a ColorSync profile by CALdisplay and your probe.

Thank you for your answer. However, I'm still confused.
If I understand you correctly, this is the setup:

Video monitor lookup table - > Calibration LUT
Color Viewer lookup table -> No LUT selected
Scopes lookup table -> No LUT selected

When doing so, I get the same results. I would like to just apply the calibration LUT to my monitor connected to the I/O box while my iMac either gets fed its own calibration LUT or uses the GUI calibration

Can't check it right now for you in 17, works perfectly fine here in 16. My experimental beta machine with 17 is used by my wife until her new laptop arrives by the end of the week.

No Problem. Maybe someone else here has insights ?
