nVidia RTX 3070 (Ampere) stalling Resolve & computer

PostSat Jan 16, 2021 4:45 pm

Hi. I upgraded my pc completely to use the title's nvidia card plus a 10th generation i7 intel core and a new motherboard.

While editing a simple video recorded with a Canon 5D Mark III, the full video was 1 minute long, I started adding cross dissolve effects and it took a while to drop, nothing appeared on the edit line when trying to drop, and I got errors of GPU not being able to process this. No effect is added and I cannot play the video anymore. Then things start to get stuck. When I tried to press several menus my computer started to stall until I couldn't even enter CTRL+ALT+SUPR window. It stayed there for a minute until I decided to reboot.

Then I tried to do the same. It is unable to add a simple cross dissolve effect. I've done this in the last month several times.

It is latest version (16.2.8.005). I undestand Ampere architecture and rtx 30's support was added last summer, isn't it?

Thanks

My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
