Hi all,

DR Studio 17.0B Build 17
iMac Pro - Mac OSX 11.0.1

I have a number of assets (text titles) from Adobe After Effects. I usually render these out Straight in ProRes 4444 with alpha channel.

BUG 1 - Jagged edges

When working in ACES in DR, these render with jagged edges. Edges in general just don't seem very nice and a bit hard.. Switching to Davinci YRGB seems to solve the issue, however, that's not the colour space I'm working in.

BUG 2 - alpha layers cause gamma shift

In this example, I have a lower third alpha asset that fills the entire frame. If I move this up, you can hopefully see a horizontal line across the image where the alpha layer ends and is causing a gamma shift.

BUG 3 - Gamma shift with subtitles layer

I'm experiencing the same issue as above, but with the subtitles layer. When the subtitles are on/off there is a noticeable gamma shift in the image.

FYI our facility found that if you change the "Apply resize transformations in" setting from "Timeline" to something else (We have been using Gamma or Linear) these problems largely disappear.

Note that applying softening to the edges of an alpha will still break this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried both Log and Gamma. Deleted the cache and delivered a few sections but unfortunately, I do not perceive any difference.

Are BM aware of this issue?

Mentioning ACES is a guaranteed way to never get an answer so you never know.

It's been reported here in multiple threads, so the most likely answer is yes.
