No Main audio channel only bus channel

Hello all!
This might be a silly question but it drives me crazy.
I'm working on a project with a few audio tracks but suddenly the Main channel disappeared and there is no sound. Instead there is only a Bus 1 channel and if i connect my audio channels to the bus the audio comes back. Can anyone help me out? How do i enable the Main channel again.

Project Preferences > Fairlight > Audio Busing Mode

The checkbox is only enabled with new Projects and empty Timelines
(same behaviour as the Timeline Frame Rate).

The default for new Projects in version 17 is Flexi Bus (i.e. "Use Fixed Bus Mapping" is disabled).
