Help please Microphone not working

Imac Mojave 10.14.6, When I go into Fairlight to record a voice over, I tried using internal Mic but I get terrible sound, like the signal is too strong maybe, and the words come out distorted, i went back to make sure its at 48hz... So decided to get a usb mic called Tonor.. plugged it in, works great on the Mac.. now in DR I change to that input, I get a "throbbing" sound and it will not show any input from sounds I make, just a constant surging sound.... it is also at 48hz in the mac settings

Side note, that mic works on windows computer for Davinci and on the Mac for other editing programs like Filmera Pro... just not DR
