SOLVED: Ultrastudio Mini Monitor only displays black

PostTue Jan 19, 2021 1:53 am

Hey guys,

Running a Lenovo P17 Gen 1 lap top and Resolve 17.06 beta. It has two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the back. I currently have a Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter connected to a thunderbolt 2 cable running into the Ultra Studio Mini Monitor. With an HDMI cable running directly into the tv.

This is the same exact setup I would use successfully with my MacBook Pro just 6 months prior. However, decided I needed a heftier system and went with the Lenovo. Unfortunately I can't get this to work the same way I did with the MacBook.

What's odd is the Mini Monitor lights up when it's connected to the back of the laptop, it also is detected by the Black Magic desktop video setup. The proper resolution 1920x1080/23.98 is selected as is the resolve project settings. Everything seems like it should work. However, my display will literally only show a black screen. One time I was able to get a outline of a window but it was completely glitching on screen.

I've tried this on my windows 10 setup as well as my dual boot Ubuntu system. Nothing seems to work.

-I've uninstalled and updated drivers.
-Tried to install drives in test/safe mode to ensure that it bypasses any type of microsoft signature it might need.
-I've changed settings in my bios.

Nothing seems to get this working.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm all out of ideas...

Solved:
This is a Resolve 17 bug. Rolled back to 16 and it was fine. I’ll report this in the bugs folder
