Davincy Resolve will not start

I am trying to install DR 17 (free) and although the installation completes ok, when I try to open it, it tries but never makes it. I reinstalled DR 16 (free) and it opens without a problem.
Any ideas please.

Hard to provide suggestions without knowing anything about your system.
What OS? What graphics card? What graphics card driver?
You've tried the latest 17.0b7 release?

Thanks, Dwaine, I have had to do a clean wipe and replace windows 10. 95% of what I had on was on an external backup. It's just a lot of work. Thanks again
