EDL Import Issues - EDL Referencing source frame count

PostThu Jan 21, 2021 12:48 am

I'm having an issue importing my EDLs from Advid (and other software) into Resolve. Although all of my shots have unique file names, they each start at the same frame, 1009. The EDL is using source frame count so the start of each clip is 00:00:42:01.

No matter what options I choose in the conform settings, I cannot get Resolve to link the correct shots. I've tried using embedded timecode and timecode from frame count with no luck.

If I don't choose "assist using reel names", Resolve will use one shot and fill that into each cut of the EDL. If I do choose this option, it won't pull in any shots.

Any advice? Is there any option to get resolve to use source name as a ID (not for reel). I'm working on switching to XML but for many of my vendors that may not be possible due to their pipelines.

Although the EDL won't pull in plates from the media bin, the cut itself looks correct and everything is named correctly and I can drag and drop my plates in and it's what it should be, but very manual.

Our other editing systems have no issues with these EDLs, only Resolve.
