Audio pops, audio not found, loud screeches after update

PostThu Jan 21, 2021 1:36 am

I recently updated my Resolve version to the latest 17.0B Build 23.

After doing so, my software has been very messed up. Random audio files are not playing, and do not display any waveform information. Additionally, loud audio pops occur when the software is booting up, and when I hit the button on my mac to turn the system volume up or down. At full system volume, I get a very loud constant hiss.

I opened an old version of my project, and the same problem exists. I sent the project to another computer with an older version of the software, and the same problem occurred. I sent an old version of the project that was not problematic to the original computer that experienced the problem, and when I opened it up, the same audio files were problematic.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Davinci, I restarted the computer, disconnected and rebooted hard drives, I even tried copying the timeline content to a new timeline in a new project. When I did that, none of the audio would play at all.

If I double click the clips that won't play, I can see the in out point on the source file, and it plays just fine in the media pool. That audio just isn't translating to the timeline, in addition to all the system bugs like audio pops.

Can anybody please help? I am on an iMac Pro 2017 with 32 gb ram 3.2 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W

My project is very large btw, 20 minutes long.
