Hello all,
DaVinci Resolve v17.1B Build 11, for Apple M1 Mac's (Mini in my case), the keyboard short cuts to create a
Parallel ⌥P
Layer ⌥L
Append ⌥K
Serial Node + CPW ⌥C
Serial Node + PCW ⌥Q
are not working. Is anyone else facing this issue? Is it a bug with the beta version?
Thanks.

I find them all working in Studio 17b7 for Windows.
Could be a Mac only, or 17.1 only issue.

yeah, it's M1 specific bug I guess, I tried with the latest beta on the intel Mac running Catilina, and everything is fine in that.

a. Please check if the application menu actions under Color > Nodes show the right shortcuts. Does the action work when the menu is invoked?
b. In the Keyboard customization window (from the DaVinci Resolve menu), you can set these menu items.
c. While you're there, you may want to click on the ⌥ and (e.g) C key on the keyboard graphic and check which functions are assigned to them. With the default preset, there should be a single menu action at the application level and no local overrides.
d. Since you mention the Mac Mini, can I check if you're using a mac keyboard or a third party keyboard? Can you check with another keyboard? The failures reported occur with the ⌥ key - so trying other shortcuts with the same modifier (like Clear In-Out ⌥X) may be an option.
e. Lastly, please confirm from the Mac OS preferences, Under Keyboard > Shortcuts, that there are not conflicts that prevent the shortcut from being conveyed to Resolve.

Yes, checked this, the menu shows proper keyboard shortcuts, and it also invokes the correct commands.b. In the Keyboard customization window (from the DaVinci Resolve menu), you can set these menu items.
Yes, this is also set by default.c. While you're there, you may want to click on the ⌥ and (e.g) C key on the keyboard graphic and check which functions are assigned to them. With the default preset, there should be a single menu action at the application level and no local overrides.
OK, here, the ⌥P is also assigned to Clear Poster Frame in the Media Pool panel, and ⌥L to Play Again. I did clear them and just kept it assigned to the color page nodes. But still not working as expected.d. Since you mention the Mac Mini, can I check if you're using a mac keyboard or a third party keyboard? Can you check with another keyboard? Yes, I'm using the magic keyboard, I also tried with a wired windows based keyboard, and the same issue is there.e. Lastly, please confirm from the Mac OS preferences, Under Keyboard > Shortcuts, that there are not conflicts that prevent the shortcut from being conveyed to Resolve.
All good here, no restrictions for Resolve here.Regards

Can you provide a screenshot of your UI layout?
Given the menu items work, but the shortcuts don't, can you check if explicitly focusing on the node-graph (by mouse-clicking) allows the shortcuts to work?

Yeah, I tried this, explicit focus on the Node graph in the color page also does not invoke the command. Also in the Edit page ,⌥X to clear in and out mark is also not working. And I checked this issues with a friend of mine on the M1 MacBook Pro , and it seems to work fine for him. Must an issue specific to the Mac mini, strange. I will reinstall Resolve and check again.
Thanks

Does seem like a problem with the key. Do try the right-⌥ if one is available on your keyboard. If it is still problematic, try a setting it to a shortcut without ⌥ to confirm that there is an issue with it.

⌘P works, the other ⌥ key on the right of the keyboard also doesn't seem to work.
