Youtube preset default audio setting is too low

PostThu Jan 21, 2021 6:46 am

The default audio codec quality for the YouTube preset is too low. Linear PCM should be the standard or, alternatively, give the user the choice of bit rate for AAC on the Deliver page.

I searched using the built in search tool in the forum for a post like this but didn't find one. My apologies if this is a repost.

Yes, the AAC bitrate is low at 192kbps and it's the same in other settings using MP4 as well. If you use Quicktime instead of MP4 you get the choice of AAC or Linear PCM.

I have fast Internet, so I prefer to export/upload Cineform AVI files to YouTube and Vimeo. The end results after their re-encoding comes out better.
