davinci resolve 17 beta not using gpu

PostThu Jan 21, 2021 5:36 am

My gpu is not being used in davinci resolve and only my cpu is being used. Its not for the rendering its only for the timeline. is there a way to use my gpu for scrolling through the timeline? i have a ryzen 9 5900x and a 2070 super. my cpu goes to 100% when i scroll through the timeline.

The GPU is always used for image processing. There is nothing you can do to prevent that.
There must be some other issue with your config and the Faqs offer guidance on info to provide.

100% CPU usage .. are you using the free version ? Then you don't have GPU hardware encoder in the free version.

So here's the deal.

The image is always processed on the GPU.

The Studio version can also decode and encode on the GPU.

It's always been that way.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
