Cant place SRT file on timeline

Hello,

I'm playing around with Resolve 16 and I'm trying specifically to create a captioning workflow. Ive got an .SRT file created by maccaption. I was able to import the file into my project but cant drag it onto the subtitle track on the time line

Any thoughts or ideas as to why it wont drop onto the timeline would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There's probably an "illegal" character somewhere in the file.

your probably right. I get the following error message in Premiere pro

Would be nice to get something like that in resolve

Changed .SRT export in maccaption from youtube (.Srt) to Subrip (.srt)

No idea what the difference is but it worked for both NLE's

You can open the two files in a text editor and compare.
