Speed editor appending wrong selection?

PostFri Jan 22, 2021 11:53 am

I am relatively new to Resolve, and very new to the Speed Editor, so please forgive my shortcomings in Davinci terminology.

Using the speed editor In the Cut panel, if I select 'source' then set in/out points, then press 'append' to place that selection on the timeline, it works as expected. However, if I set the in/out points, then press 'source' again so that just the i/o selection is previewed in the source viewer, pressing 'append' places the whole source clip on the timeline, rather than the in/out selection.

Is anyone able to reproduce this?

Pressing escape to close the zoomed preview and returning to the full source view before appending works correctly.

Thanks in advance!

If u select source, then I/O, then source again the source tape zooms to the range u selected, so u can then select a new I/O to use. If u select that new I/O, then append, does the new i/O get appended?

Thanks Peter. I didn't realise I neccesarily needed to set a second I/O. I presumed it would logically place just the zoomed selection (the first I/O) onto the timeline if no second I/O was set, rather than the entire clip that the zoomed selection came from.
