Can Resolve 16 Studio import Panasonic EVA1 400 All-I files?

PostFri Jan 22, 2021 11:42 pm

The free version of Resolve 16 doesn't import any of the 10bit 422 h264 files from a Panasonic EVA-1, I will buy the studio edition if that's the issue, if anyone is successfully working with EVA 400Mbps All-I encoded 24p files please let me know, thanks!

I can import footage from the Panasonic Varicam LT just fine, so I wouldn’t doubt that works too
If you want to make sure, post a sample please.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Here's a very short 3-sec clip I would be keen to know if you can import into Resolve Studio:

(Shot in DCI 4K, 24.00fps, 400Mbps All-I codec)

@Uli I would be interested if you have any advice or tips on shooting and grading V-LOG you have discovered as a Varicam owner. I am new to Panasonic having got my EVA this week, previously a Sony mirrorless shooter - needless to say, I have found a massive step up in image quality. I'd also be very curious to know how EVA compares in IQ and DR to a Varicam, perhaps a topic for another thread :).

The Free version doesn't support 10 bit 4:2:2 H264.

You will need studio for that.
