I am struggling with this thing for a while now searched for a solution some while ago and now i did it again.
And its still remaining.
On the Editpage as a videoeditor you often scroll and scrub over the timeline to recheck, check forward etc.
I recently worked a lot with premiere pro caused by the employer then and when i came back to Resolve it became even more distracting for the workflow during the editing-process.
When editing i often - like mentioned - srub over the timeline and want to correct or add things. therefore i want to zoom in to the specific point where things have to happen. But zooming in on the timeline causes jumping back to the playhead and playcing it in the middle of the screen.
Also this lovely Playhead always trys to recenter during playback. What also anoys a lot people.
Both technices are very unintuitive and could be fixed with the simple options to switch f.ex. between "playhead-centered playback on timeline" & "dynamic playback on timeline" and "playhead-centered zoom (on timeline)" & "dynamic zoom (on timeline)".
I thought perhaps i could create a better picture with this problem by sharing some other threads, thats had this complain already years ago and still nothing happened to fix it:

I know there are also other things to be fixed all the time but oh boi we wait for years now!
Isnt it time? This is really holding back a lot of potential for the programm!
in geneeral the hotkey functions for the editing-page could need a update. Comparing to PrCC a lot very usefull ones are missing.
But the biggest one right now seems to be the thing about zooming and scrubbing.
