Importing 4K mov files to Resolve

Hi
First post here. I have been using the free version of Resolve for about 12 months to edit BRAW from my 4K. I have recently started using a Panasonic GH5s for gimbal work and I am having difficulty importing clips to my timeline.
I usually only get an audio file. I am recording in .Mov 4K in a variety of picture profiles - Cinema 4K, V-Log and Rec709.
I am able to transcode in Media Encoder, but I was wondering if the Studio version of Resolve would allow me to edit natively. It feels like double handling and would be worth the investment for the time it saves.
Thanks

Yes, Studio will handle the original footage.

Can you post a sample clip with each of the settings? I would like to see how they work in Studio (I'm looking to buy the camera but can't find sample footage)

4:2:2 10-bit h264 clips as shot by GH5(s) won't gain any advantage with Studio version AFAIK. OP should also be aware of that.

10-bit 4:2:2 H.264 clips work fine in Resolve Studio. Depending on your hardware you might not get hardware acceleration as 10-bit 4:2:2 H.264 support is more rare.

No one said they wouldn't work. 10-bit 4:2:2 H.264 HW decode support is non-existent:

Yes, but I wasn't really clear on what you meant by "won't gain any advantage with Studio version". The advantage is that unlike in the free version the files will be playable in the Studio version (regardless of hardware acceleration).

For what it's worth those files play flawlessly in Resolve Studio on a 2.5GHz Quad Core Intel i5. With high CPU usage of course.

Apple's M1 is supporting that in hardware (judging by some footage from Sony FX9 and Varicam LT).
Maybe even in the free version, but not as MXF. If you are curious, post a short sample.
