No Audio, cannot select Audio Out other than 'default'

I installed Resolve v17 on Ubuntu 20.10 (utilizing the .Run file). I know it is not formally supported, but figured it was worth an attempt to get it working.

[ Preferences -> Video & Audio I/O -> Speaker Configuration -> Manual -> Device -> Default ] provides no other options than default. I'm uncertain what I can do to be able to choose a specific device.

I attached all of the logs i can think of. If there are any others that can help please let me know.

A few other notes:
I've tried v16 as well, same issue. Installed clean copy of ubuntu 20.04 and installed resolve again, issues identical to 20.10.

Another note, that may be a separate issue, or possibly relevant: when installing the Run file for v17, i am asked to set the graphics card. i do so, but then it wants me to set a media storage, when i click add on a folder, the configuration window closes, but resolve closes with it. I have had to both on 20.10 and 20.04 uninstall v17, install v16, uninstall it, and reinstall v17. it appears that the uninstall is leaving a settings file behind, because when i open v17 after the v16, i now have media folders.

additionally, i have attempted to install using the .deb conversion, no luck there either.
