Cannot apply Text effect (Resolved- Sort of)

I upgraded to the current ver 17 beta version (17.0B Build 23) and I cannot add a Title to the time line. I tried the regular titles and the Fusion titles. The preview when I mouse over the title works, but when I click and drag, the title doesn't move over to the timeline.
Any ideas?

Have you dropped a Text box onto the Timeline? Have a look at page 805 in the current (vers 16) manual. It is to be found on the Support page on the BMD website in the middle column.

@Charles Bennett Thanks, it wasn't that I didn't know how, it was that when I dragged the Text effect onto the timeline nothing would happen.
The problem was that Resolve had crashed just a few minutes before and when I re-opened Resolve, there was still an instance of Resolve running in the background and that instance was utilizing 100% of my GPU RAM.
I get fairly regular crashes in DaVinci Resolve and I was hoping that the new release had fixed it? I hope they do!

Regular crashes point to something else being amiss so changing Resolve versions is unlikely to change anything.
What do you tend to be doing when a crash happens?
