audio from 2012 android mp4

PostTue Jan 26, 2021 12:48 am

free version Resolve 17.08; just upgraded OS from Win 7 to Win 10, so uninstalled Resolve 15 and installed new beta version.

Evidently all my MP4 videos from old droid phone have audio issues (about 3000 of them). After about 9-10 seconds the audio cuts out. I tried to make an optimized media version and this made the audio into an echo chamber. I tried to use Handbrake and re-encode and it does the same thing - echo chamber.

However I can import them OK into Adobe CS6. And then I can export, and then successfully import into Resolve. (I really don't want to edit these in Adobe!)

I can import MP4's successfully from just about every other source that I've tested including a droid from 2015, 2017, and everything since then.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

The files are probably variable frame rate (and maybe even 44.1 kHz?). Resolve doesn't like that.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Do that. Convert them to Cineform or DNx files.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Seconded. And change audio to 48 kHz if it's 44.1 originally.
