Davinci Resolve 17

Hi all.

Currently experiencing difficulties using the Davinci Resolve 17 software.

I open the app as an administrator and begin to navigate the features and it instantly begins to be extremely slow and non responsive. When i import media it shows it in the media pool but it doesn't show any of its contents, its literally a blank image. It allows me to drag the media in to the window but again it doesn't show me any of the contents in the window and it doesn't let me play the video. From that point on nothing on the app works, it just freezes and begins to be non responsive. I have no other problem navigating any other app, browser etc on my PC its just the second i open Resolve 17 the non responsive

Id just like to add i am new in to this world so forgive me for my innocence .

I don't know if this helps but my GPU is a Radeon RD 5600 xt and my CPU is a Ryzen 9 3900 12 core-processor.

Does audio from the black clips play properly?
If so, is it possible that you're attempting to edit 10bit footage?

It doesn't allow me to play back any of the medias contents so i am not able to hear any audio. If i start the app and leave it for 30-45 minutes that's the only time it will show me contents, playback and sounds, but it is still sluggish and non responsive. The second the app is opened it immediately begins to run as if Im on my old laptop, nothing responds, no media contents can be viewed etc.

I have checked the setting and under 'Video monitoring' the 'video bit depth' is at '8 bit'.
