Nope. It's done when it's done. I don't know for sure, but having developed software for years, I imagine they are looking at the number of reported bugs, the rate of reported bugs, and how involved bug fixes are and will take it out of beta when it basically meets the rates/effort that their ongoing efforts expect.
It really doesn't make any difference as far as your decision to use it, though. They could be like some companies and declare it non-beta and then spend months of 17.0 and 17.1 releases before finally getting to a truly stable 17.2 Or they could go another four or five months in beta. In either case, you have to read the forums and get a feel for how stable it is for your use case.
