What Specs do I need to edit 6K 50fps BRAW on iMac
Posted: Tue Jan 26, 2021 7:15 pmAs long as I've worked in Davinci Resolve I've always had playback issues. I recently upgraded to an [b]iMac i9 3.6 Ghz processor, (stock graphics cards - 8GB GPU), 32GB A-Tech RAM, on OSX Mojave running Resolve 17 Studio. The whole reason for the upgrade was to fix my playback problem and so I could edit 6k video BUT I STILL have playback issues! Even editing 1080p or 4k the playback is choppy in Resolve. I'm using optimized media. My[b] proxy files are at 1/4 resolution. I'm using a highly compressed codec. Why can't I ever get smooth playback???
I've seen Youtubers use my exact computer to edit 4k with no issue in Resolve. It is possible! What upgrades or settings do I need to change to get this to work. I just wanna edit 6k 30fps with a bunch of FX smoothly.
BTW: I know almost nothing about computers or all this technical stuff. Please just list the items and settings and I shall look into it. Because this needs to end. Thanks.
