Fairlight Automation Trim help

PostTue Jan 26, 2021 11:30 pm

Hi, just wondering if I am approaching this wrong. I am attempting to trim some fader automation which is overwriting the results... Process is as follow.

1. Write first pass automation in touch / snap.
2. Switch to preview mode.
3. Select I/O Range of scene
4. In Latch / Hold.. trim automation down -2db.
5. Auto - Fill range

Instead of my exisiting values trimming down -2db, the value for the entire range is now -2db.

How should I go about achieving a -2db trim across the range?

Thanks,
Matt

Fill Range writes the current value in to the Range and replaces existing automation data with that value.

Trim Fader Automation (Range not required):
(1) enable Trim
(2) Auto (amber fader)
(3) define the offset value (e.g. -2dB)
(4) engage Transport (amber curve = offset, green = original data)
(5) stop Transport to return to previous automation data

Preview Trim is not currently available in Resolve.
