Save an Open Fx effect as a preset?

PostWed Jan 27, 2021 4:30 am

Ive got a 3D Keyer setting I'd like to use to apply in different bumpers and timeline. How can I save it as a preset so I don't lose it.
I'm new to Resolve, but can't figure this out. I see how to save transitions and various combinations of nodes as presets, but not FX in the edit page.

I don't think you can, at least not on Edit.

In Fusion, maybe.

But you can Copy/Paste Attributes to get that effect onto other clips in the same project.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

strip all but that node out of your tree and save it as a powergrade, append as needed

Thanks for all the replies.
Here's what I did. I saved a backup timeline and was able to copy/paste attributes selecting ONLY the "Plug-ins" checkmark while pasting. This works, but maybe there should be a way to drag or copy a preset OpenFX to your media pool or a preset window.
I find it far from perfect, but Premiere can do this.

Thanks again, I'm sure it won't be my last question in this learning process.

This is the simplest thing that other NLEs have nailed. They really should add this into the mix since so much off editing is copying work to save time.

Any effect can be saved with as many preset as you wish, Fusion has 6 as default.

Hi John,

I am looking for a way to save a preset I made with the color space converter OFX plug. I can't do it in the color page for this workflow so I was hoping to make a preset in the edit tab that could be batch applied.

Hi

Sorry, I am not a colourist so my only thought would be to drop it on an adjustment clip and save it in the power bin.

I hope you get this sorted.
