17.1 Rendering, Playback and Export really slow on M1 Mac

In the previous beta rendering, playback and exporting was great, however now it's almost glacial.
M1 Mac mini with 16GB RAM.
OWC Express NVME RAID
ProRes LT Cache to separate NVME SSD
Both drives directly connected via TB3
BRAW 4K in 4K timeline.
No noise reduction or processor intensive effects.
No other apps running.
I don't understand how I could be getting 2fps render speeds on an H.264 Quick Export. It's almost like performance I'd expect to see were it running through Rosetta. I even made sure to check that it was universal.
Is it possible to downgrade to the previous version? Because it's almost unusable at the moment.
