Good day. I know this topic has been discussed in some form or other. My specific question has to do with my transition from Adobe CC to DR17. Still trying to develop a new workflow.
As for Adobe CC when I had a track (or 2 or 7) dedicated to voice, a track (or 2 or 13) dedicated to NATS, and a track (or 2) dedicated to music I would round trip to audition where I would create aux busses to consolidate VOICE on one aux and NATS/FOLEY/SFX, and MFX on another aux. So at the end of the chain I would have 1 VOICE Aux and 1 GENERAL Aux. After this I would simply place a dynamics processing compressor on the GENERAL aux and activate it's sidechain. From there I would send a SEND from the VOICE Aux and assign it to the sidechain in the GENERAL Aux thereby engaging the sidechain.
With fairlight, having created the same infrastructure I do not see an option to SEND/LISTEN in the bus compressor.
Question one. How do I perform audio ducking using a compressor on a bus where I have consolidated multiple tracks?
Question 2. Maybe the way I worked in Audition isn't the only way to sidechain multiple elements at once. I get how I can do this on a per track basis. The SEND/LISTEN functionality is right there. How do you pros do this?
Hopefully this isn't too convoluted a question. Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks.
