Davinci Resolve 17 Beta PC Crashing

PostWed Jan 27, 2021 10:51 am
Hello if anyone has a solution I would be grateful

First thing I wanted to put in my PC specs

Asus Z270h Motherboard Intel i5 7600k
32gig ripjaw memory
cooler master 240 mil aio cooler
3 addition fans at front of case
and one in the back to exhaust air out the back
GTX 1080 but in the memory and GPU section I have GPU selection cehck and OpenCL selected because i get an error with beta 17
Resolve is running on a samsung m.2 970 pro
I have a few clips on the time line with some titles
and during scrubbing i notice i wont see the image of the thumbnail on the time line or even the transition fx and it will crash or i get a spinning wheel and it either crashes or I hit alt f4 to close it but if I leave it it never comes back.

any ideas would be welcome
thanks in advance

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

That would imply your Desktop folder is on OneDrive.

Unzip the attached file and put the extracted CaptureLogsOneDrive.bat file in the C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve folder and then run it.

You can't use the NVIDIA 461.09 driver. Resolve 17b7 should not even allow you to launch with that driver.

There is a new 461.40 Studio driver. Download and install that. When you run the installer, select the Custom option and do a Clean install.

If you still have issues after doing that, send another log and NFO file.
