How to select a clip using Speed Editor

PostThu Jan 28, 2021 2:44 am

I just recently received my new Davinci Resolve Speed Editor and I'm trying to come up to speed ( ;) ) on how to use it. One of the first things I'm struggling with is the very basic function of selecting a clip in the timeline. I've got a clip that I want to select and delete and it's got me stumped! Perhaps I'm being daft but could someone help me out here? Is there a way to use the Speed Editor to do this pretty simple function?

Thanks!

RIPL DEL key is working fine here. If you have multiple layers it'll start at the top layer though.

From page 53 in the manual:

RIPL DEL (Ripple Delete)
Pressing this key will delete the selected clip or clips, and then close any gaps that occur by
rippling the Timeline to the left. If no clip is selected, this key will ripple delete the clip under
the playhead.

Thanks for the response.

I take it that a clip is 'selected' when you position the playhead over it...?? Is that how you're doing it or do you use a mouse as well?

Using the speed editor in the cut Page doesn't require select a Clip to perfom an Action.

It sounds to me like you're using the Speed Editor on the Edit page instead of the Cut Page. There's no official description I've seen of how the Speed Editor is intended to work on the Edit page - as far as I know there really hasn't been much, if any, work on the code for that page to work with the Speed Editor.
