Backing up the database v archiving projects

Hi

I am doing a backup of every project I have on my current database.

I've been thinking about the difference between exporting individual projects as .drp versus exporting the whole database as a .diskdb

Alternative 1- you export every separate project in a database as single .drp files
Alternative 2 - you export the disk database itself as a .diskdb

Ignoring media and the practicalities of importing and exporting, am I right in thinking that both these alternatives perform the identical role?

That the .diskdb contains all the data of every .drp and vice versa, every .drp added together has all the data of the .diskdb?

Thanks!

Alan

Best practice, do both.

That's the safest way. But it all depends on the number and complexity of your projects since you should do this often.

With a small number of short projects, it might be easier to backup the database. With many projects hanging around in the database, but not being touched every day, it might be more efficient to export the .drp currently being worked on regularly.

Oh, and this applies not only to the beta.
