Upgrading from Studio 15

PostThu Jan 28, 2021 6:53 pm

Howdy folks,

When I got my Pocket 4k back in 2018, my job had me working in premiere pro full time. I've only recently decided to make the switch to Resolve for my own projects in the future and I'm wondering if it's possible to update from Studio 15 to 17. All of the content I've found so far is people upgrading the free versions or moving from 16 to 17.

I don't have any existing databases to worry about, so it seems like this should be a pretty simple thing. Unless I've totally misunderstood the terms of the Studio 15 license. I was under the impression that upgrades to subsequent versions of Studio were included in that.

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks!

If you have a license for V15 then it carries through to V17 fine. I purchased at V14.
Resolve Studio 17.4.6 - Fusion Studio 17.2.2 - Windows 10
Gigabyte GTX1080ti 11GB - AMD 1950X - 64GB 2400
Gigabyte X399 AORUS Gaming 7
Intensity Pro 4k
Presonus 192 Audio Interface
Separate M.2 SSDs for OS and Resolve Cache

I bought my license at 12.5.

Still works in 17.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
