Adding ProRes LT or Proxy to Windows?

PostFri Jan 29, 2021 2:13 am

I think I already know the answer to this, but is there a way to add ProRes codecs to a windows machine so I can use it to generate Proxies with Resolve 17? I much prefer it to anything else with my Macs, but my render server will be a windows machine. Any way to do this?

Thanks.

Not yet, but may be someone will offer such an add-on to 17.
That said, your alternatives under Windows are Cineform or DNxHD/HR, which give you comparable quality and decoding load.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
