DVR Panels and Speed Editor Defect

PostSat Jan 30, 2021 1:12 pm

There is no way on the Preferences -> System -> panels to turn off the Speed Editor Bluetooth. We have the problem that when ever any one knocks the speed editor it wakes up and starts its bluetooth, This causes problem sand confusion in our environment. Especially if we have more than one Speed Editor in range of one (or more) computers using bluetooth. This is why we are normally all hardwired.
PLEASE either put an on/off switch on the Speed Editor or a firmware patch so that DVR can manfully turn off BT (via USB) until it is manually turned on again in the same way, This would not affect those who want BT on as normal.

The Bluetooth is auto disabled when the USB is plugged in, and also goes silent if it cant connect to the host after a few tries with periodic wake up to try again.

Have you considered giving each Speed Editor a unique name to avoid Bluetooth confusion? It can be done via the DaVinci Control Panel

It does not say that the blue tooth is auto disabled when you use USB in the Speed Editor Manual that was in the box...

Oh, hang on there is no Speed Editor manual, let alone one in the box. There is no specification anywhere for the Speed Editor. This is also a defect.

The SERIOUS design Defect is that periodically the Bluetooth wakes up on its own!!! This is unacceptable.
There needs to be the ability to turn off the Bluetooth from DVR via USB until it is turned back on the same way.

If you don't have any competent design Engineers at BDM I can lend you some.
