Timeline options panel closes on 4K display with DPI scaling

PostSun Jan 31, 2021 4:33 pm

I have a 4K monitor on Windows 10. I set my system display scaling to 125%. That works well on most apps but in Resolve 17 Beta the system scaling is not adhered to and so the UI text inside the app is too small. To fix that I do a per-app DPI override of Resolve by right-clicking the resolve executable in Windows, clicking the Compatibility tab, then the "Change High DPI settings" button and enabling the "Override high DPI scaling behavior", with the "Scaling performed by" set to either "System" or "System (Enhanced)". Either of those two settings yields UI controls that are perfectly sized. However, this causes the timeline options panel to no longer function properly - after opening the panel it prematurely closes as soon as I mouse down to manipulate one of the controls. It appears to be a bug related to Resolve's mouse position detection when the app is scaled. I can reach some of the controls if I sneak around the side of the panel. Here's a video to demonstrate:

Display Scaling should always be set to 100%.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

That's not feasible on a 4K display under Windows 10.
