Davinci Resolve 17 not able to generate optimized media

So i've been having this issue in my Davinci Resolve 17 where whenever i try to generate proxy media for the mp4 clips in the timeline i get this error message saying that it failed to generate proxy media for the following files and then it gives the mp4 clips names ..... the same thing happens when i try to generate optimized media for the same clips and sometimes it doesnt even start generating optimized media but instead just stops the process when its supposed to take sometimes to generate compressed optimized media with 1 eighth the resolution as set in the project master settings .

My current setup includes the following :
- i7 8th gen with 4 cores
- a gpu of NVIDIA GEFORCE MX250 with 4GB of VRAM
- RAM of 16GB
- Currently using windows 10 , 64 bit
Any guidance regarding this issue will be much appreciated .
